The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is an industry-recognized, portable, evidence-based credential that certifies essential skills needed for workplace success. With the NCRC earned prior to graduation, the student is able to work with educators toward career readiness preparation programs with the confidence they have met the job applicant requirements many employers are looking for. The NCRC provides the individual a differentiator in the job applicant process allowing them to stand out from candidates not having this credential. They will be able to gain employment and begin developing their career path sooner. Over 76 businesses in the area support NCRC.

Students have qualified to receive Certificate of Employability recognition, have met criteria in the areas of Academic Achievement (including Grade Point Average and Work Keys scores), Attendance, and Attitude. The Certificate has been developed in partnership with the Freeport Area Mid-Sized Manufacturers Council and has been endorsed by several business and industry organizations. The recipients will be able to refer to the Certificate in seeking employment region wide.
