Strategic and Operational Priorities

Mission Statement
Greater Freeport Partnership: Economic Development is a not-for-profit economic development corporation focused on retaining and expanding business, and diversifying the economic base of the City of Freeport, Stephenson County, and northwest Illinois.

Shared Strategic Vision
We focus on supporting business development, creating and retaining primary jobs, and aligning the skills of our workforce with the needs of business by employing the land, capital, infrastructure and labor resources of the community, in sync with the market and within a business-friendly environment, to create the economic wealth required to deliver and sustain the area's high quality of life for our dynamic and diverse population.

Greater Freeport Partnership is Cost Efficient and Effective
The Partnership's public/private structure maximizes the effectiveness of regional economic development efforts while minimizing the cost.

Greater Freeport Partnership:

  • Utilizes a small but effective staff so local governments avoid the added cost of hiring their own staffs and duplicating efforts.
  • Facilitates the kind of inter-governmental and private sector collaboration needed to maximize economic development results
  • Provides developers as well as prospective and existing businesses a one-stop shop for information and assistance.
